While most balustrade installations are developed from the architect’s specification by a balustrade specialist, and installed by experts trained and monitored by the balustrade company – that’s not always the case.
Value engineering pressure or programme planning issues can sometimes result in contractors opting for a system that has been fabricated to meet the architect’s drawings without enlisting the specialist design, technical and installation experience of a balustrade company.
This approach may sometimes seem like an easy way to save time and money on a scheme, but it can result in a substandard installation that does not fulfil the design life of the building and, in some cases, may not even pass building inspection.
At Delta Balustrades we ensure that all installations using our products are completed to the very highest standards and to underpin that commitment we have introduced our Approved Installer Scheme (AIS).
The stringent, four-module AIS assessment programme incorporates installer training, reporting systems between the installers and our own team and a best practice approach to excellent quality standards and cost management.
Our Approved Installers are fully audited and training is provided for each individual installer, including product training, a factory tour, a complete induction with our training manual and practical installation workshops.
Each installer then undergoes a test to complete the training and verify that all technical points have been fully understood. With training completed, our team carries out impromptu site audits to ensure that best practice is applied during installation and all Delta Balustrades Approved Installers are audited over time to ensure that our high standards are continuously delivered before final AIS accreditation is awarded.
Specification of quality products has to go hand in hand with quality installation and that can only be achieved by working with a specialist that is accountable throughout project delivery.
