Orbis OS241 Tension Wire Infill Top Fix
Contractor: Interserve Construction
Architect: BPR Architects
At the heart of the North London Hendon Campus, the Ritterman Building is a state-of-the-art teaching facility for Middlesex University, providing five storeys of innovative teaching space.
Providing a modern engaging appearance, the Orbis balustrades with tension wire infill was chosen for internal core stairs. Used only by students and staff, and not open to public use, meant that the wire infill could be utilised and for the main contractor this design provided a balustrade solution that was entirely manufactured offsite, and very quick to install.
With only three internal stairs but reaching five storeys high, a quick install was a huge benefit on site as individual staircores were not closed for extended periods of time.
